CyanogenMod 11 Milestone (CM11 M1) build has been released upfront for AOSP-supported Google Nexus devices (Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10) for the first time in the history of CyanogenMod development. This Milestone build is a significant release as the select devices have skipped the traditional nightly updates altogether.

According to CyanogenMod Blog, the new Milestone update supports the latest Android 4.4 KitKat features on Google's Nexus line of devices with the added advantage of bug-less coding at the hardware level, as it comes directly from Google. The CM team has tested these devices to ensure a stable user- experience while running the new firmware.

The absence of any hardware bugs with the Nexus devices will help the CM team to identify software or firmware related bugs in CyanogenMod 11 M1 build quite easily, based on user complaints and feedback. In other words, it will become far easier for CyanogenMod developers to find and fix all known bugs in CM11, given the non-existent hardware conflicts with Google Nexus devices.

Head over to the official CyanogenMod download page to get the CM11 M1 build for your Nexus device. NOTE: The CM team has advised the user community to use ClockworkMod recovery for installing the new CyanogenMod 11 M1 build on their devices, as TWRP recovery is reportedly having technical issues with the firmware installation.

As for non-Nexus devices, the CyanogenMod team will be rolling out the complete list of supported devices for CyanogenMod 11 Nightly builds soon.
