Google Nexus 10 2 release date is not yet happening and buyers are now looking for alternatives for Google's tablet.

Many Google fans are waiting for the Nexus 10 2 release but the company is still mum about the successor of its 10-inch tablet. The search giant may just slip the second generation of Nexus 10 in the Play Store like what it did to the Nexus 5 smartphone. However, Black Friday and Cyber Monday came and went and there is still no sign of Nexus 10 2.

Below are the top five tablets that can be alternatives to the Google Nexus 10 2, which remains unannounced.

Nexus 7 2

Buyers may settle on Nexus 10's 7-inch brother. The device boasts of a 7-inch screen display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor paired with 2 GB RAM. Take pictures with 5 megapixel rear shooter and 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera. Other features are NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and wireless charging. Lastly, Nexus devices are the first to receive Android OS update.

Samsung Galaxy 10.1 2014 Edition

Another alternative to Nexus 10 2 is the 2014 edition of Samsung Galaxy 10.1. Samsung's tablet is the first high-resolution tablet of the company as it boasts 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution that is 299 pixels per inch packed in its 10-inch screen display. Moreover, users can also expect that it will be faster as the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition packs a 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 3 GB RAM. The Note 10.1 2014 also features an 8-megapixel main and 2-megapixel front cameras. The tablet is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0

Samsung also introduced an 8-inch tablet this year. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 packs an 8-inch screen display with 800 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a dual core Exynos chip processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. The tablet runs with 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean OS. Users take pictures with 5 megapixels rear camera and 1.3 megapixels front camera. The tablet has 4,450 mAh battery life and is available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants with up to 64 GB external storage via microSD slot.

iPad Air

iPad Air is the lightest tablet in the market. Apple's full-fledged tablet retained its 9.7 inches Retina Display and packed the 64-bit A7 processor and M7 GPU chip like the iPhone 5S. According to Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller, the new iPad will be 72 times faster than the previous iPad.

iPad Mini With Retina Display

The new iPad Mini includes a Retina Display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 with 326 ppi. The miniature iPad is also powered by the 64-bit A7 processor and packs M7 GPU chip for faster processing. The new iPad Mini also offers more storage options and consumers can choose among 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants.
