Another cast member has been added in the upcoming film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Various sources announced that Marcia Gay Harden has been cast as Dr. Grace Treveylan Grey, the adoptive mother of businessman Christian Grey.
Harden joins the other actors who had been cast for the adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel. The cast is led by Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as college student Anastasia 'Ana' Steele. The rest of the cast include Luke Grimes as Christian's adoptive brother Elliot Grey, Eloise Mumford as Ana's best friend Kate Kavanagh, Jennifer Ehle as Ana's mother Carla, Victor Rasuk as Ana's friend Jose, Rita Ora as Christian's adoptive younger sister Mia Grey and Max Martini as Christian's bodyguard Taylor. British director Sam Taylor-Wood will direct the movie.
With the casting of Harden's character Grace, various sources are starting to speculate as to who will be cast as Elena Lincoln. Lincoln is the bored housewife who made Christian the way he is in the story and to whom Ana refers to as Mrs. Robinson.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" follows the racy affair between Christian and Ana, where the latter is introduced to the former's world of BDSM.
Filming has just kicked off last week in Vancouver, starting with the scene where Christian gets to know Ana better over coffee. The production encountered delays prior to the filming of the movie after Charlie Hunnam backed out of his role as Christian Grey due to scheduling and personal conflicts. The event also forced the production to reschedule the release of the movie to February 2015.
Harden was best known for her role as Lee Krasner in the movie "Pollock," which landed her an Oscar award for Best Supporting Actress in 2000. Another role that earned Harden numerous awards and nominations was her role as Celeste Boyle in "Mystic River." Currently, Harden stars in HBO's "The Newsroom" as lawyer Rebecca Halliday and as Diane in ABC's "Trophy Wife."
