The Cyanogenmod team has finally released a stable edition of Cyanogenmod 10.2. While it marks the availability of the custom firmware based on Android 4.3 for numerous devices, it also indicates the direction in which the CM community is heading.

This stable 10.2 relapse formally marks an end to the development on Jelly Bean-based ROMs, since the coding team will be shifting their attention to Cyanogenmod 11, which will be the first release based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The team also announced they will begin to phase out nightly updates for all 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich releases. The move makes sense since it is not feasible for the team to churn out new nightly builds of the older Cyanogenmod branches, given that very few changes are being made to them.

For everyone who has been waiting for the official "stable" release of CM 10.2 instead of using a release candidate or nightly build, now is the time to get the latest version. Users can download the builds from this page.

For those of you who want the latest, most cutting-edge builds, then CM 10.2 nightlies will be rolling out every now and then as CM 11 development progresses.

At the time of publication of this article, the stable 10.2 release download was available for the devices mentioned below. Check the CM downloads page to see if downloads for other devices are available since more and more releases are being pumped out.
