Amazon just released their brand new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet PC. Many sources agree it is one of the best tablet offerings to date. The device shares the stylish appeal of the iPad Air. It also gives Apple's popular device a run for its money in terms of resolution and screen. The new Kindle starts at $379 which falls under a good range appealing to more people. Has Amazon truly delivered this time? How will the Kindle fair with the iPad Air?

The HDX guarantees premium features. The touch screen offers 339 pixels per inch assurance bright and vivid display. Based on the pixel density, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX trumps Apple's iPad Air. The Air only offers 264 pixels per inch. For those looking for an ultimate tablet viewing experience, the HDX is a good deal.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet PC weighs only 13.2 ounces. This means users can hold the device for long hours without suffering from any aches and pains. The device offers a battery life similar to upper to middle slates on the market. It is around an hour or two short in battery life compared to the iPad Air. Sources claim that while Amazon claims 12 hours of battery life, heavy use will only yield around 11 hours of life.

At the back of the device, there is an 8MP camera. Specs wise, the 8MP camera should shoot well than the 5MP found on the iPad Air. However, this does not mean the device shoots better looking images. Amazon wins the sharpness and detail categories but Apple wins on colors. Both devices offer excellent shooting camera although they excel in different areas.

Overall, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet PC offers people a device that can do the job for them. Nonetheless, users should also be prepared with the idea that the existence of the slate is based primarily around Amazon's online stores and content libraries. It may be a challenge for some users to accomplish things outside the Amazon arena.

Specs wise, the Amazon Kindle Fire can compete with iPad Air, although the Air provides better versatility.
