Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez should consider his Old Trafford future if his limited appearances this season continue.
Hernandez has made just four starts for United this season and despite scoring in the wins over Stoke City and Norwich City in the past week, was demoted to the bench at the expense of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, who both scored in the win over Fulham.
The 25 year old is expected to lead Mexico's attack in the World Cup play-off against New Zealand later this month but Hernandez is not equally as appreciated by United, for whom he has played a peripheral role since his arrival in the summer of 2010.
Carlos Vela, who himself was a marginalised member of the Arsenal first team squad prior to joining Real Sociedad where he has scored 29 goals across three La Liga campaigns, says his international teammate must contemplate leaving United to fulfil his potential.
"He is one of the best finishers in England and deserves chances under the new coach.
"If he plays regularly he will score, so I don't totally understand why a player of his quality has not played more games.
"If he doesn't play regularly he will need to think about leaving.
"You always want to succeed at the biggest clubs - but if he is not given the chance there will be big teams in England and Europe wanting him."
Despite having scored four goals in as many starts this season Hernandez continues to play second fiddle to Rooney and Van Persie in David Moyes' attack.
The duo have five and six league goals each this season and following a fourth successive win in all competitions against Fulham, United have provided evidence they are recovering from their early season troubles which saw them lose to Liverpool, Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.
