England were made to toil in the field on the first day of their Ashes tour as a Western Australia Chairman's XI ended the day on 369-4.
Chris Lynn struck a wonderful century and three other batsman passed 50 as England's new-look seam attack was made to suffer in Perth.
James Anderson was at his usual best as he took one wicket for just 31 runs from his 16 overs, but it was a day to forget for Chris Tremlett, Boyd Rankin and Steve Finn.
The trio of fast bowlers would claim just one wicket between them as they conceded 245 runs from their 53 overs.
England have three warm-up matches before the first Test against Australia in Brisbane which begins on 21 November.
Alastair Cook's side are seeking a fourth consecutive Ashes series win, a feat which has not been achieved in more than a century.
However, on the first day of the long tour they were forced to remain in the field for the entire day with only limited success as Rankin and Finn came in for particularly heavy punishment.
Lynn, who has not played first class cricket for almost 20 months, was the chief destroyer as he scored 104 before eventually being caught by Michael Carberry off the bowling of Rankin.
Western Australia had made an impressive start with Luke Towers (69) and Marcus Harris (77) reaching a century partnership with very few scares.
Anderson would eventually break the 115-run partnership by claiming the wicket of Harris before Joe Root made the second breakthrough when Towers was caught behind by Matt Prior.
Lynn would eventually fall to Rankin and Ben Stoke claimed the wicket of Mitchell Marsh for 58 but it was a long and energy sapping day for the bowlers at the WACA.
