Shailene Woodley is set to become the next Hollywood "It" Girl following all the attention she's been receiving. Not only is Woodley set to star in Veronica Roth's "Divergent" but in John Green's best-selling novel "The Fault in Our Stars" as well. With all the attention on Shailene, even some fans are still hounding her to star in E.L. James erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Honoree, actress Shailene Woodley, arrives at the 20th anniversary of ELLE Women in Hollywood event in Los Angeles October 21, 2013. The event, hosted by ELLE magazine, honors women who have had a profound impact on the film industry.
Before Dakota Johnson was officially confirmed for the part of Anastasia Steele, countless other Hollywood actresses were eyed for the part. One star that had potential for the part of Ana was "The Descendants" Shailene Woodley. Critics and fans claimed Woodley had the right amount of looks and innocence to pull off the part in the film adaptation.
However, due to two other big film adaptations that had first dibs on Shailene, James and producers had to consider other stars for the role. Even with Dakota Johnson having nabbed the part, some fans still hound Shailene Woodley to take over the part of Ana.
"Every time I talk to somebody, they're like, 'Oh, what's going on with Fifty Shades?' And I'm like, 'What are you talking about? I know nothing about it.' But yeah, after doing Divergent and being a part of that franchise, I couldn't imagine doing another one right now," stated Shailene.
For one, Shailene has already signed on to play Tris for the two books left in the series, "Insurgent" and "Allegiant." Like Lawrence, who does her own stunts for "Hunger Games," Shailene is certainly enjoying doing the stunts herself for "Divergent."
"I have a scar on my chest [and] a scar on my hip, but all good battle wounds," stated Woodley, adding, "It's so much fun! And they'll go away in like five years. The cool thing is I got to do some stunts and that never happens. I feel so cool about it."
Shailene's other notable film is that of John Green's novel, "The Fault in Our Stars." Woodley plays the part of Hazel Grace Lancaster opposite Ansel Elgort who plays Augustus Waters. The film is set to debut in 2014 as with "Divergent."
Fans who still hope to see Shailene Woodley in "Fifty Shades of Grey" will most likely be disappointed.
