The studio had teased the new mode on its Instagram feed on 27 November and an Imgur user had leaked screenshots of the game. Activision has confirmed that Extinction mode can be played by upto four players. The co-op game mode will be a mixture of fast-paced survival gameplay, base defense, player customisation and class leveling.
The new mode, described as "robust" by the studio, will be set up in an isolated Colorado town and the player has to eliminate all aliens to survive.
The video shows the elite soldiers working together to kill the aliens. They are tasked to protect the drill that is planted on the alien hive. Players will be required to defend the drill and shoot down alien hordes.
