Winning away from home is a difficult task, but Arsenal are able to find ways to extend their unbeaten record to 14 games which works to their benefit, according to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
"As it stands at the moment, we have a very good away record." - Arsene Wenger
"As it stands at the moment, we have a very good away record," Wenger told arsenal.com.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester United are Arsenal's next opponents in the weeks to come, and the French manager reiterates that such is one of the cause of concern as regards their campaign.
"We have drawn only once and won all our other away games and we have more points ahead of everyone else so that's not bad," he added.
"That's the advantage, the disadvantage is that some teams have had heavier fixtures than we have had until now. That's what is facing us now."
Despite an overall poor showing against Crystal Palace, highlighted by the ejection of Mikel Arteta at the 65th minute, Wenger was pleased with the result.
"The target was to take the three points instead of playing a fantastic game and then you draw," he said.
"It's good because it shows that the team can win when we're not completely flying. That's a good sign."
However, Gunners midfielder Arteta did not agree with the referee's decision to send him off.
"It was a very harsh decision to send me off," said Arteta.
"Chamakh kicks my fight foot, I have seen it on television. It is 40 yards away from goal too."
"It is true that I tried to block him with my hand but then he came with his left foot into my right calf and then we were both on the floor. It was never a tackle from me."
"It was the most important period of the game. There was always uncertainty we could always get caught. When we scored the first we were on top of the game, that decision changed the game and we were in trouble. But thankfully we held the result, we scored a second and we won the game."
