The long wait is over for "Minecraft" 1.7 update. Technically, the update will be released on Friday, as Mojang has recently outed a pre-released version, which is also downloadable for testing.
What is notable about the new update is that there are just a lot of things to expect out of "Minecraft" 1.7 for the PC version.
"We're calling this one 'The update that changed the world', because it really has in two different ways; there's over twice the amount of ingame biomes, and we've overhauled lots of the code preparing for the plugin API," said developer Dinnerbone in the latest post on Mojang's official website.

Some of the updates include new world generation, as you can now double the amount of biomes complete with new trees, flowers and blocks. There is also a new "Amplified" world option, and there will be less ocean.
There will also be new blocks for the "Minecraft" 1.7, featuring two types of wood, stained glass with blocks and panes, packed ice, red sand, podzol and new flowers, which can span up to double the height of current plants.
More types of fish have been added, and the fishing mechanics have been tweaked so you can catch both junk and treasure. Fishing rod enchantments have also been added to the "Minecraft" 1.7. Maps are also less lagging and have new colour for new blocks.
The achievements and statistic have also been overhauled, as they are now world and server specific. You can also see who gets what kind of achievement, as this will be announced, complete with a zoomable achievements screen.
For those who want to use more than just one resource pack, you can now have multiple selected as well as tinker with the sounds. Multi-player enhancements have also been done, so you can see who's online before joining a particular server.
There are also command and chat improvements as well as a re-working of network and sound manager. Plus, all the bugs found in the many snapshots that have been rolled out for the past few months have been fixed and included in the "Minecraft" 1.7 pre-release.
The complete list of features and bug fixes are listed in Mojang's official website. You can also download the pack there. If there are any more bugs that you wish to report, you can report them here, and hopefully, they can be fixed before the final release on Friday.
Quantum Physics as Experienced in 'Minecraft'
"Minecraft" has already been featured to have a number of uses beyond the enjoyment of gamers. It has created and built countless worlds based on a number of pop culture references. It has even built Great Britain out of "Minecraft" blocks, hopefully for educational purposes.
This time, the mod qCraft is aimed at putting physics at the heart of "Minecraft," according to The Verge. A mod created by Google's Quantum AI Lab Team, qCraft is highlighted with new content that makes use of physics.
There are blocks that have several properties, which are based on some quantum concepts. Entangled blocks and block activation by merely looking at the blocks are just some of the new features that the modification tries to achieve.
"We built the Quantum A.I. Lab to explore the potential of quantum computing, and figure out what questions we should be asking," said Lab Team in their Google+. "Where will future quantum computer scientists come from? Our best guess: Minecraft," the team added (emphasis in original post).
For the most part, this mod is looking to be an educational tool that makes use of analogies of the concept for those who want to learn more about quantum physics in a creative and fun way.
