Here are some of the creepiest and top scary urban legends that can make you stay sleepless at night:
The Kuchisake-Onna is an urban legend that is believed to have originated in China and Japan. It tells the story of a samurai's wife who allegedly cheated by getting involved with a younger guy. However, when she was discovered by her hubby, the husband got too enraged that he slit her mouth from ear to ear. Her urban legend lives on as many believe that she still wanders to get a compliment from any stranger. If you won't give her one, you might end up killed by her too.
This urban legend tells the story of a girl from Scotland who was believed to have hated life so much which led her to kill herself. When her family learned of her death, each member also consecutively died a few days later. Now the legend states that the ghost of the little girl knocks on anyone's door until you open it up. However, once you do, she is all set to kill you too so that no one will ever know she still exists. The lesson? It is still safe to know who is knocking first on your door before you open up.

It was in 1989 when various Russian scientists dug a borehole that is about 14.5 km deep. They sent an equipment below and they discovered that the temperature below was about a thousand degrees Celsius. The creepy things about this urban legend are that some of the workers kept on hearing weird sounds which were recorded by the instruments they used. Many believed that those were the voices from hell. There was also a story that says some gas burst out of the hole and took the shape of a winged demon and spelled "I have conquered."
