World's no.1 golfer Tiger Woods has been accused of cheating, but this time on the golf course. Former professional golfer and golf analysts Brandel Chamblee is in hot water after calling the 14-time Grand Slam champion a cheater in his latest article on Golf.com.
Tiger Woods is hoping to win his first major championship in five years.
The 24-year old Chamblee surprisingly gave Woods a failing mark in his PGA Tour Season grades. Chamblee believed Woods, who won the PGA Tour Player of the Year after winning five tournament this year, has not done enough to suffice the cheating he made throughout the year.
"I remember when we only talked about Tiger's golf. I miss those days. He won five times and contended in majors and won the Vardon Trophy and ... how shall we say this ... was a little cavalier with the rules," Chamblee said in the article.
Chamblee then enumerated then the rule controversies Woods had been involved through the PGA Tour season.
"Tiger's rule controversies in 2013 included taking an illegal free drop at the Abu Dhabi Championship, avoiding disqualification at the Masters despite signing an incorrect scorecard following an illegal drop, giving himself a favorable drop after hitting into a water hazard at the Players Championship, and a two-stroke penalty for causing his ball to move while removing a twig resting against it at the BMW Championship," said Chamblee in his article.
Apparently, Woods' agent Mark Steinberg is not happy with Chamble's cheating slur, saying he's ready to take legal action to reprimand the writer for his derogatory article.
"There's nothing you can call a golfer worse than a cheater," Steinberg told ESPN. "This is the most deplorable thing I have seen. I'm not one for hyperbole, but this is absolutely disgusting. Calling him a cheater? I'll be shocked, stunned if something is not done about this. Something has to be done. There are things that just don't go without response. It's atrocious.... [we] have to give thought to legal action."
Meanwhile, Lindsey Vonn said she will continue to trust Woods despite the infidelity issues that shattered the golfer's previous relationship with Elin Nordegren.
'Ah, I don't know. That's kind of a weird question. But, aah, I mean, you have to trust the person that you're with and we're happy and that's all,' Vonn told Minneapolis Star Tribune's columnist C.J via Daily Mail.uk
