One of the popular racing titles, Need for Speed: Rivals, which is scheduled to release in November, is also said to be skipping the struggling Japanese gaming console despite having its previous iteration, Need for Speed: Most Wanted very much available.
In an interview, Craig Sullivan, director of Ghost Games, one of the developers of NFS: Rivals has revealed the reason justifying the absence of the game title on the Nintendo platform to The Sixth Axis.
Sullivan explained that even though a lot of effort was put on the game, it didn't sell much as compared to their estimation. "Honestly, it's not the kind of stuff that I like talking about in detail, that much. We did a load of extra work on the Wii U version, and we had a lot of guys working on that stuff, you know?," reports VG247. "It didn't really sell that many, in terms of the Wii U market. I would love for it to have, because we put so much effort into that, trust me. I'd love for it to be way bigger than it was, and the same for the Vita."
Sullivan also said that the effort of 200 people on the game made the firm concentrate more towards the major market to do some justice to them.
It has also been noted that the Sony Playstation 4 version of NFS: Rivals is visually more impressive than the PC version, according to Polygon. The PlayStation 4 version is said to feature better graphics, textures, improved lightings on cars and overall sharper graphics.
However, one of the drawbacks is that some of the parts of the in-game world failed to load. Following this, Ghosts Games has promised to fix the issue by the time of its launch.
