With prices dropping for the previous generation tablets due to the launch of new tablets in the market, users have plenty of tablets to choose from. Here is a specs comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and the Google Nexus 10.

Display and Design:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with 10.1 inch PLS TFT touch screen, rendering 1280x800 pixels resolution. The Google Nexus 10 comes with 10.1 inch Super PLS TFT touch screen, rendering 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with 256.6 x 175.3 x 9.7 mm dimensions and weighs 581 grams. The Google Nexus 10 comes with 263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9 mm dimensions and is slightly heavier, weighing 603 grams.

Hardware and Operating System:

 The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with a 1 GHz dual core cortex A9 processor and TI OMAP 4430 chipset. It comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB internal memory variants, which can be expanded by up to 32 GB using a Micro SD card.

The Google Nexus 10 comes with a 1.7 GHz dual core cortex A15 processor and Exynos 5250 chipset. It comes in 16GB and 32GB internal memory variants and there is no Micro SD card slot for additional memory.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and can be upgraded to the 4.3 Jelly Bean version. It has 1GB of RAM. The Google Nexus 10 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version and can be upgraded to the 4.3 version. It has 2 GB of RAM.

Camera:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is equipped with a 3.5 MP primary camera with features like Geo tagging. The secondary camera on the device is a VGA camera. The Google Nexus 10 is equipped with a 5MP primary camera with features like Geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. The secondary camera on the device is 1.9 MP.

Battery:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with a non-removable Li-Po 7000 mAh battery. The Google Nexus 10 comes with non-removable Li-Po 9000 mAh battery.

Price in Australia:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 16GB variant is priced at around AU $349.95. The Google Nexus 10 16GB variant is priced at around AU $429.95 and the 32GB variant is priced at around AU $499.95.
