After reigning the smartphone market in India, Samsung Mobiles was named the country's 'most attractive brand' of 2013, in a research-based report by Trust Research Advisory (TRA).
According to 'India's Most Attractive Brand 2013' survey, Samsung was followed closely by Sony and Nokia India, which came second and third, respectively, on the list of top 1,000 brands based on TRA's proprietary matrix of 36 brand attractive traits. There was just a two percent gap between the three brands. However, popular local brand Micromax is lagging at the 68th spot, behind Blackberry (52nd).
"India's top 10 attractive brands include two mobile phone brands, two consumer electronics brands, three from the diversified category, one each from FMCG, automobile and technology categories," TRA chief executive N Chandramouli told PTI.
South Korean consumer electronics firm LG is in the fourth spot with an eight percent attractiveness score. In the fifth spot is India's home-grown conglomerate Tata, trailing its predecessor by 11 percent.
The sample size of the report is based on research conducted among 2,505 'consumer-influencers' from across 16 cities.
A whopping 48 percent behind Tata in attractiveness quotient at the sixth spot is the bath/beauty brand from the Hindustan Unilever Ltd - Lux, the report said.
"The next four brands are within single-digit gaps of each other with Maruti Suzuki ranked seventh, Godrej ranked eighth, Bajaj ranked ninth, and Dell the technology leader, ranked tenth most attractive brand," said Chandramouli.
In the sports section, Reebok is considered to be the most attractive brand at the 12th spot, followed by Adidas and Puma.
