Harry potter star Daniel Radcliffe has stated that he might return as Harry Potter in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Warner Bros has brought the movie rights for the book penned by J.K. Rowling in 2001. J.K. Rowling herself will be the screenwriter. This film will feature Newt Scamander(the fictional author) as a main character and will not be a sequel or a prequel to the Potter adventures, instead kicking off in New York, 70 years before Harry Potter's story starts.
"It's the version I'd be most interested in. I could be talked into it. I like the idea of an intertwining storyline," Radcliffe stated. This comes as a surprise for his fans as he has previously suggested that he would not be returning as Harry Potter.
"I don't think I'm going to be coming back. We can't be doing these characters when we're 40, so there has to be a line drawn," he stated.
However he stated that there was a possibility too.
"I never know what Jo (Rowling) is going to write, but at the moment I'm in the same position that everybody else is in - waiting to hear what information is coming out because I don't know anything about these new films. He could return if time travel rears its head again. I'll be intrigued to see what she does," he added.
J.K. Rowling has also reinstated the fact that the new film will not be a sequel or a prequel to the Harry Potter series.
"I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about and this is it," Rowling added.
