Following the news that Charlie Hunnam has dropped out from "Fifty Shades of Grey," demand that Dakota Johnson be fired from set as well. However, this is unlikely to happen given the present situation of the film production. Also, E.L. James remains firm in her decision of having Dakota Johnson cast as Anastasia Steele which means Johnson won't get fired from the film.
Dakota Johnson Not in Danger of Getting Fired From Film
Immediately after Hunnam dropped the part of Christian Grey, millions of netizens rejoiced. Finally, the chance of having Matt Bomer or other hot Hollywood hunks play the part of Christian Grey was a possibility. Of course, some had also wanted Dakota Johnson to give up the part of Anastasia Steele.
Johnson was mainly hired for the part given her "tangible chemistry" with Charlie Hunnam. With Charlie out of the film, there would be no "chemistry" between Dakota and the replacement actor which could jeopardize the film. Thus, a few fans demanded Dakota Johnson should be taken of the film. Yet, this won't likely be the case. Dakota Johnson is here to stay as Anastasia Steele whether or not fans like it.
"Dakota earned the role and she shouldn't be worried right now. The only time she will have to worry, if at all, is if they hire someone that has no chemistry with her," says a source to Hollywood Life, adding, "But they are casting the actor with her in mind."
Aside from revealing that Dakota Johnson is set to stay for the film adaptation, the source claims that producers are looking to hire a newcomer for the part of Christian Grey.
"Established stars have the same apprehensions as Charlie had to take the role. The film could easily be the next Showgirls or the next Basic Instinct, and we all know one was a complete joke and the other was an amazingly well-done and successful film," stated the source.
Unfortunately, fans hoping to see Matt Bomer take the part of Christian Grey will be subject to disappointment once more. Hopefully though, producers manage to find a suitable star that won't get cold feet and still has that chemistry with Dakota Johnson.
