Arsenal are interested in making a move for Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann, according to talkSPORT.
The 22 year old is a mainstay of the Monchengladbach first team, having started all eight of the club's Bundesliga matches this season, with four wins helping them keep pace with Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Herrmann has played an important role in Monchengladbach's emergence in Germany, scoring six goals in each of the last two seasons and most recently netted in the 4-1 success over Werder Bremen.
However, latest reports suggest that Arsenal, who have been credited with an interest in Herrmann since 2011, could firm up their interest in the player's services as they look to beef up their wide options.
Despite making Mesut Ozil the club's record signing on deadline day, The Gunners have suffered an injury crisis in wide positions with Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott all out injured.
Serge Gnabry has filled in effectively, scoring his first professional goal against Swansea City, but should Arsenal wish to continue their impressive start to the season which saw them win 10 games in succession prior to the draw with West Bromwich Albion, the club require a rapid recovery for the trio.
Walcott and Podoslki are expected back in November, while Chamberlain might not play before the New Year.
Herrmann has entered the last two years on his contract at Monchengladbach, and without firm evidence that a new contract is in the pipeline, the club are vulnerable to cut price bids from rival continental sides including Arsenal.
He has earned international recognition for his impressive club form from Germany manager Joachim Loew, earning a call up for the World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan but failed to win his first cap.
The Saarbrucken-born player has played at every level of German youth football and appears destined for greatness in the national game. Should he earn a move to Arsenal, he would join fellow Germans Per Mertesacker, Thomas Eisfekld, Podolski, Ozil and Gnabry at the Emirates Stadium.
