The brand new London head office of Al Gore located in Regent Street will take advantage of NASA's fuel cell technology.
This process which converts gas into heat is also what's used for the US space agency's space shuttles, The Guardian reports. According to the head of the crown estate development, it is the very first to be implemented in UK that is set to promote energy efficiency and to reduce the level of carbon content in the environment. The head, Alastair Smart also emphasizes that it will last for a long period of time up to even two decades.
Al Gore, the ex-vice president of the US will place his headquarters of his General Investment Management company in the new development site. It is said to cost around £400 million.
More Details On The FuelCell Energy Company
The fuel cell was made by the FuelCell Energy company that is capable of emitting less carbon dioxide by 38% as compared to the use of electricity. All in all, the crown estate came to an estimate that about 350 tons of emissions will be saved on an annual basis. It can produce power with zero nitrogen oxide or any other matter that can trigger pollution.
The brand new plant will serve as the central source of energy to all the establishments within the Quadrant development that measures about 500,000 sq. ft.
Other experts think that this NASA's fuel cell energy won't just save the environment from further pollution but also help save in costs. The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has been testing out the system in almost 10 businesses within the states of Oregon and California.
It can also be helpful in the near future once fuel cells as big as the size of washing machines become a reality by some companies. These can be the most modern and convenient solutions to provide energy to each and every home around.
