Samsung finally has the answer to Apple's new processor chip which is going to be revealed via the upcoming Galaxy S5 in 2014. Aside from faster processing speed, Samsung's new Exynos will boast 50 per cent less power consumption and less heat generation compared to the previous chipset.
Samsung New Exynos Chipset
Recent reports revealed Samsung's plan to manufacture 20nm processors which offer better performance and efficiency compared with the current 28nm chips but now, the South Korean tech giant is going straight to 14nm from 28nm chipsets.
Korean media DDaily reported that Samsung Galaxy S5 is going to feature the upcoming Exynos 6 CPU with 14nm architecture instead of 20nm and 64-bit support to match the speed of Apple iPhone 5S.
Aside from increased processing speed, the upcoming Exynos chipset is also sporting better energy and heat management. Exynos 6 consumes 50 per cent less energy thus, generating less heat as well to prevent overheating on the device.
As usual, the Exynos 6 chipset will have the ARM's big.LITTLE octa-core configuration with Cortex-A53 and A57 CPU cores.
Samsung Galaxy S5
According to the report, the Exynos 6 chipset sample production is expected to be finished before 2014 and the Galaxy S5 is the first smartphone to run the latest processor. Upcoming devices such as Galaxy Note 4 are also possible to be equipped with Exynos 6 series CPU.
January 2014 is suggested to be the official announcement date of the Galaxy S5 with February as the official launching month. However, early release of Galaxy S5 may miss the Exynos 6 chipset which Samsung won't actually do just to fail on beating Apple's new iPhone.
Right now everything are just speculations so don't take anything seriously. Simply wait till Samsung unveils the secrets of their upcoming 2014 flagship smartphone next year.
