Indianapolis Colts will look for a fourth consecutive win in his season of the NFL, when they visit the inconsistent San Diego Chargers on Monday night.
Chuck Pagano and the Colts have had a wonderful start to the season, with Indianapolis now sitting atop the NFC South courtesy a 4-1 record.
Chargers v Colts
Luck, though, is not getting carried away with the early-season form, with the quarterback saying Pagano is sure to keep the team grounded.
"I don't think it's in the DNA of a Pagano-coached team to hang your head or to get too high when you're doing something well," Luck said. "His approach is very methodical."
Pagano also said as much, knowing fully well there is still a long way to go in the regular season. "I don't think you'll see any of these guys walk around with their chest puffed out like a robin, walking around the yard after a big rain storm, bunch of worms out there, all robin-ed up," he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press. "We're not going there. We'll keep reminding them it's a short ride from the penthouse to the outhouse."
Colts, who are fourth in the league on rushing with 142 yards per game, have been dealt a blow with Ahmad Bradshaw choosing to go for surgery on his injured neck, which rules him out for the rest of the season.
Trent Richardson and Donald Brown, however, did pretty well in their win last week over the then unbeaten Seattle Seahawks, and the Chargers are expecting Richardson to be a danger man on Monday.
"He's a powerful runner that a lot of times doesn't go down with the first hit," San Diego linebacker Larry English said. "We have to do a great job this week tackling, we've talked about that. We need 11 players rallying to the ball and playing aggressive defence."
The Chargers are 2-3 for the season, 1-1 at home, and will be desperate for a dominating win, which could kickstart their year. The onus, of course, will be on quarterback Philip Rivers to gun the offence, but the defence will also need to keep Luck and co. quiet if they are to pull off a much-needed victory.
