Charlie Hunnam has backed out from playing Christian Grey in the film version of EL James's best-selling erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Fans Happy?
One of Charlie Hunnam's fans is shocked at the decision and is of the opinion that "fans" of the novel will never be satisfied. "That's just crazy, these ppl are so focused on someone that will be hot playing Christian instead of someone who will actually be a good actor!! This just proves that fandom will never be happy with who is chosen," writes "theadventuresofcaro" on Tumblr.
While others also believe that Hunnam was "bullied" and hence, quit. "The fact that fans were so obsessive about that they managed to bully Charlie Hunnam out of playing Christian Grey is hilarious. Sad, but hilarious. The movie is gonna suck anyway," wrote r3verence on Twitter.
Speculation is rife that new actors considered for the role are Matt Boomer and even Robert Pattinson but many are not happy with Pattinson as the choice either.
"If they replace him with that vampire guy, all hope is lost in this world," writes korradelion on Twitter.
There is a majority of section of fans who believe that the role of Christian Grey would have been the "worst choice" for the "Sons of Anarchy" actor who has portrayed being a bad ass till now.
"I'm double happy for Charlie Hunnam because he not only drop out of what could have been his worst career choice BUT he also received and will continue receiving a lot of media attention because of this decision," writes a good move dude on Twitter.
Other section of fans is so happy that they can't stop crying their tears of happiness!
"i'm crying. so happy. Thank," wrote clarissa373 on Twitter.
However the funniest reaction was that Hunnam finally went through the contents of the book, which are based on bondage sex and he chicken out of the role.
"Maybe Charlie Hunnam finally read the book and went "you've got to be kidding," wrote STeardrops on Twitters.
Fans have also posted the picture of Matt Boomer on Twitter saying, "Now that Charlie Hunnam is off 50Shades, can we have the *real* Christian Grey now? Pretty please?."
Charlie's decision to pull out of the movie came as a surprise to fans as he recently said in an interview that he was excited and shares wonderful chemistry alongside Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele in the movie and is still committed to play the female lead.
"The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," Universal Pictures announced on October 12.
The first film in the trilogy, penned by E.L. James, was due to begin shooting in November. The movie requires onscreen nudity and has one of the strongest fan-following ever, which in turn can put a lot of pressure on the actors.
''I wish Charlie all the best. X,'' novel's author E L James wrote on Twitter.
