While the phenomenal gay-themed Philippine soap opera My Husband's Lover ends Oct 18 with the male lovers, Vincent Soriano and Eric del Mundo, parting way and ending their relationship, the opposite is the case for Jun Lana, the creative director of the bekiserye.

Lana and his lover, TV 5 Creative and Entertainment Head Perci Intalan, will become a married couple as they go through a same-sex wedding on Monday, Oct 14, in New York, Pep.ph reports.
In contrast, in the soap opera, Eric, played by Dennis Trillo, decides to end his romantic relationship with Vincent, portrayed by Tom Rodriguez, because the latter is married to Lally Agatep, essayed by Carla Abellana, and has two children with her, Diego and Hannah. Eric deemed it best to instead leave for the U.S. in Friday's cliffhanger episode.
In real life, Perci and Jun are anticipating their U.S. wedding and have posted some details in Jun's Instagram account of Percy fitting his wedding suit. Meanwhile, Jun shared that they have acquired a marriage license from the City Clerk of the state of New York.
He captioned the copy of their marriage license with an excerpt from the landmark ruling that legalised gay unions in Massachusetts, which reads: "Civil marriage is at once a personal commitment to another human being and a highly public celebration of ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity and family. Without the right to marry one if excluded from the full range of human experience ... And the right to marry means little if it does not include the right to marry the person of one's choice."
Since both Jun and Perci are males, their wedding invitation reads "Mr and Mr." The wedding will be held at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, while the reception will be held at a Filipino restaurant, Jeepney Gasropub, on the Lower East Side.
The couple has no witnesses or wedding sponsors.
It seems that art would not be imitating life in this case since Jun and Perci are set to tie the knot, while Vincent and Eric are set to go separate paths and lead separate lives.
But with 5 more remaining days of the soap opera, the creative team behind the bekiserye may just pull a surprise on the audience.
Ahead of the soap's official ending, the cast held a concert on Saturday night, Oct 12, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum as they way of thanking the viewing public for supporting the soap that ran for more than four months with consistent high viewership because of its controversial theme revolving around gay love.
Here's the video teaser for the concert.
