A host smartphones released in the tech world this year and it is now time to make a list of all the handsets with a unique design.
Here are the top five phones which sported a different look by changing a few hardware aspects.
Samsung Galaxy Round
The South Korean company announced the gadget recently and, to impress tech lovers, they introduced the flexible display; a new development from the usual designs, according to Cnet.
Galaxy Round is the world's first smartphone with a curved screen. This handset is expected to hit the Korean markets in brown and some flashy colours initially.
The device will carry a 5.7-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1080p. The phone will be running on Android 4.3 along with Samsung's Touch Wiz interface.
Galaxy Round will feature the 'roll effect' that triggers basic information such as time, date, missed calls and battery details on the home screen when the handset is on sleep mode.
The smartphone will sport a 13-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and flash, plus a 2-megapixel front camera for video calling.
The device will be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage capacity. The device will carry a battery of 2,800 mAh but there is no word on the price of the gadget yet.
iPhone 5s was added to the list as the company introduced a fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone, according to Cnet.
The fingerprint sensor is integrated in the home button of the smartphone and is compatible with Apple applications.
The device features a 4-inch display along with an A7 64-bit processor. iPhone 5s boasts the latest iOS7 operating system by Apple. It also carries an 8-megapixel iSight camera.
The unlocked version of iPhone5S (16GB) is listed at a price of $834 on Amazon. If the customers wish to purchase the smartphone on a contract basis with AT&T Wireless then the handset will cost $199 on a 2-year contract.
Samsung Hennessy Flip Phone and Samsung Galaxy Golden
Samsung is keen to retain its influence in the smartphone market by producing unique designs, just like the dual-screen flip smartphone, titled - Hennessey Flip.
This gadget was released in China in August this year. The flip phone boasts two touchscreen displays of 3.3-inch in the front as well as on the back side. The device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with a 5-megapixel camera.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Golden was announced right after Hennessy Flip. This smartphone features two 3.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen displays. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz along with an 8-megapixel camera.
Rumour has it that the South Korean tech firm will soon launch another flip phone with the advanced Android 4.3 OS and will carry Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 chipset. The camera will be updated to 13-megapixel and it will also sport a 2-megapixel front camera, reported Engadget.
Vertu Constellation is an Android smartphone that is available for purchase on Vertu's official website.
This gadget is priced at a whopping $5,950, majorly for the design of this handset. The backside of the smartphone is covered with real calf's leather that, Vertu claims, has been chosen from one of Europe's oldest tanneries to give it a soft texture, reported Cnet.
Each handset has been hand-built in Hampshire, England. The screen of the smartphone is made of sapphire glass which will protect the device from scratches.
This phone sports a 1.7GHz dual-core processor but it runs on an older version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The screen resolution is just 720p and it is not compatible with LTE connectivity. It also has a 13-megapixel primary camera.
YotaPhone e-ink Smartphone
YotaPhone is a high-end Android smartphone with an e-ink display of 4.3 inch on the back. The handset was designed for saving up the battery as E-ink saves more resources than colour HD displays.
YotaPhone is designed for those who read long articles on their handsets and the users can switch to the E-ink display, reported Cnet.
The smartphone carries Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It features a 12-megapixel camera along with a 1.3 VGA camera. This device is available in three variants of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB.
