Samsung recently launched the world's first smartphone with a curved display. For the readers who are considering the Samsung Galaxy Round over the iPhone 5, here is a specs comparison.
Design and Display:
The Samsung Galaxy Round is a bulkier and slightly heavier phone comparatively; the primary reason for this is the bigger screen size. The device comes with a 5.7 inch screen, rendering a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.
The iPhone 5 comes with a smaller 4 inch screen rendering 640 x 1136 pixel resolution. The device is lighter and weighs 112 grams compared to the 154 grams of the Galaxy round.
Hardware and Operating System:
The Samsung Galaxy Round comes with a quad core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. It comes with 32 GB internal memory, which can be upgraded by up to 64 GB via a Micro SD card. It has a whopping 3 GB RAM and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The iPhone 5 comes with a Dual-core 1.3 GHz Swift, ARM v7 based, processor and Apple A6 chipset. It comes in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB internal memory options with no Micro SD card slot. The device has 1 GB of RAM and runs on iOS 6 which can be upgraded to the latest iOS 7.
The Samsung Galaxy Round has a 13 MP camera with features like the auto focus and LED flash. The secondary camera on the device is 2 MP. The other features on the camera include dual shot and simultaneous video and image recording.
The iPhone 5 comes with an 8 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash. The secondary camera on the device is 1.2 MP. It should be mentioned however that the pixels are not the only factor determining the quality of the camera, each camera functions differently under different conditions.
The Samsung Galaxy Round comes with a Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery, whereas the iPhone 5 comes with a non-removable Li-Po 1440 mAh battery.
