Now that Criminal Minds Season 9 has finished its two-part season premiere, all eyes turn to the next episode, where the expected changes in management will surely roll in. Already circulating around the Internet are some promotional photos via Spoiler TV that have started the buzz on what to expect next.
And it's looking like the JJ season is about to start as early as the fourth episode. In the conclusion of the two-episode premiere, Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibbson) has mentioned that he will not be filling the vacant role of Section Chief due to a job well done in the field.
So far, the team does not have any idea on who will be joining their team as a driving force, but fans who have been following Criminal Minds news know just who this person is.
Enter Esai Morales (NYPD Blue, American Family), who will be playing the role of Matt Cruz. According to TV Guide, the new big boss for the BAU will be stepping in on the fourth episode, and it will come as a big shock to JJ, played by A.J. Cook.
"He's more, 'I'm one of you guys.' We didn't want him to be the same as Strauss because they you're just retelling those stories," said writer producer Erica Messer to TV Guide. "He comes in with mystery to the audience and the team."
The Secretive JJ Will be Revealed
For the longest time, JJ has been the darling of the team, the sweet blonde young woman who was the glue to the team. But now, audience will be treated to her past, one that she had tried to keep from the team for so long since she had transferred to State Department.
But the one person whom she shares those secrets with is coming in as the new Criminal Minds BAU tea boss. "They cannot tell anyone what happened and they don't tell the team that they know each other," said Messer.
Fans of JJ and Will La Montagne, Jr. (played by Josh Stewart) need not worry, the writers have already assured that the secret is not an affair so potentially, a darker secret may be revealed.
More Details for Paget Brewster's Return
In another report from TV Guide, more spoilers for Paget Brewster's return has surfaced, this time in the form of speculations as to what she will be doing when she comes back in for the 200th Criminal Minds episode.
One of the possibilities is that she will be stepping in to help the BAU team as part of the team once more. This is perhaps the episode that fans will be looking for, so that the team will be reunited on the field again chasing down the bad guys. Emily Prentiss can also return in the form of a flashback.
But what the Criminal Minds writers have assured is that it will change the way you see JJ because of her past. Who's excited to know more about JJ's secret?
