According to a report in Mid-Day, "Shuddhi" will be made on a whopping budget of ₹150 crore. Apparently, it will surpass the amount spent on films including Shah Rukh Khan's "RA.One" and Akshay Kumar's "Blue", both of which are deemed as the costliest Bollywood films to have been made with a budget of ₹100 crore, each.
Speaking about the budget of "Shuddhi", director Karan Malhotra told the news portal, "We are trying to make a nice dramatic film but yes for sure it will be big. The costs and budgets depends upon the production house. We will try to make the movie with the best possible resources available."
It is also said that the film will be extensively shot in Bhopal. The first schedule of the film, set to commence in December, is expected to last for around 25 days.
One of the main highlights of the film will be the on screen chemistry between Hrithik and Kareena. The duo will be reuniting for the Karan directorial after 10-long years when their last outing "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon" was released. According to the director, Hrithik and Kareena will be seen in a never-done-before role in "Shuddhi."
The film which is said to be a romance drama will be produced by Karan Johar. Interestingly, Johar, Malhotra and Roshan are teaming up for the second time after the 2012-blockbuster "Agneepath." Their new film "Shuddhi" is expected to release on Diwali 2014.
