Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 4 may pack better camera on their next year release dates.
According to Patent Bolt, Samsung is developing the same 13MP sensor backed with better software. The new cameraphone can capture images at 8 times brighter than the current cameras of Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3. It also means that photos taken at low light conditions will appear brighter.
TechRadar cited reports that the new camera sensor also packs in greater anti-shake functionality. This will be beneficial to users with shaky hands. The new camera is also speculated to be "power friendly."
The new camera sensor will commence its mass production in the first half of 2014. This is in line with the alleged release date of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
It was first speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack a 20.7 megapixels camera, which is a big jump from the current 13 megapixels rear shooter of the Samsung Galaxy S4. However, it is usually argued that higher megapixels are nothing without a good camera software.
Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is reported to happen in the first quarter of next year, most probably in March 2014. Other reports claimed that the Galaxy S5 will make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress event 2014 scheduled to take place on Feb. 24 to 27. However, it is most probable that Samsung will hold a separate launch event.
According to rumours, Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack a larger screen display or a wraparound screen; 64-bit processor; Android 4.4 KitKat OS; fingerprint sensor; 20.7 megapixels back camera and longer battery life.
However, some reports cited that the 64-bit processor, Android 4.4 KitKat and fingerprint sensor may not arrive in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 as the features may face production issues. The aforementioned features may be seen to the Galaxy Note 4.
