Apple fans eagerly await the release of the next iteration of its iPad 5's tablet line. Earlier rumors and leaked images are adding up to the excitement. Here are the top five features to expect on the release date.
2013: The Most Colourful Year
2013 turns out to be the year of colors. Many smartphone and tablet manufacturers offer their devices in multiple colors to attract more customers and provide more personalized experience. The iPad 5 recently leaked images online, showing that the device may be available in gold, silver and space gray colors apart from the regular black and white.
The fingerprint scanner on the recently launched iPhone 5S may have gotten some mixed responses from the market, but Apple is expected to stick to its technology. The innovation has also won support from many legal experts. Touch ID, as Apple calls the fingerprint scanner, may be available in its upcoming tablets. The security feature could add an extra layer of scrutiny for the users, especially when making purchases while using the device.
Apple fans, who have been complaining about the RAM on their tablets, may have something to cheer about this time. The iPad 5 is expected to come with a 2GB RAM, improving its performance substantially. Analysts say that a RAM upgrade has become necessary, as many of the competing tablets, like Nexus 10 from Google, have 2GB RAM.
The camera is expected to get a boost with an 8MP camera. Camera has been a focus area for Apple though, especially when it comes to its marketing activities. Burberry will reportedly use the newly launched iPhone 5S to shoot the 2014 Runway show.
The leaked images of the iPad 5 suggest that the device comes in a smaller bezel design. This makes the device sleeker and does not compromise the screen size.
The device is expected to feature the newly launched iOS 7 operating system, where there have been bug reports in the operating system. But Apple has launched updates to fix them. Click here to read more about the iOS 7 bugs and fixes.
The release for iPad 5 is set Oct. 15. It is priced at about $539 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model; similarly $649 for 32GB; $759 for the 64GB model and $869 for the 128GB model.
