Apple recently announced the iPhone 5S which features the most powerful processor known in mobile devices to date. The iPhone 6 is set to be released in 2014 and remains unclear if it will be present at the upcoming CES event.
Speculations reveal that an iPhone device is scheduled for June 2014 release and will probably be called iPhone 6. According to TechRadar, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek said that June 2014 would be the release date for the iPhone 6 which somehow agreed to Citi's Glen Yeung that no iPhone 6 is due until next year.
Some mock ups from artist Peter Zigich suggests that the iPhone 6 will have three size variants - iPhone 6, iPhone 6 mini and iPhone 6 XL. However, creating different sizes for a single generation may not be as easy as it sounds.
The iPhone 6 speculated features or must have include the following:
The Samsung Galaxy S4 seems defeated in terms of processing prowess by the iPhone 5S, but its features remain powerful to sustain market standing. But the Galaxy S4 lacks great innovation unlike the shift from Galaxy S2 to Galaxy S3 which is something Samsung needs to work on for the Galaxy S4 to Galaxy S5 evolution.
Moving away from polycarbonate material would a major change in the upcoming Galaxy S5, replaced by aluminium-magnesium components. According to TrustedReviews, the South Korean tech giant plans to adopt aluminium and other metal body for the Galaxy S5 to keep up with high-end smartphones in terms of elegance and luxury, as demonstrated by Apple and HTC.
The Galaxy S5 is also rumoured to feature the first 64-bit processor on an Android smartphone that will match Apple's current CPU on the iPhone 5S. Aside from the increased speed, the next-generation Galaxy S will boast 3 GB of RAM which is already featured by the Galaxy Note 3, except the next hardware comes with improvements on multi-tasking ability and battery consumption.
Another story is that the new ultra-slim memory may cause the Galaxy S5 to become slimmer which could improve overall battery life. Moreover, the ultra-slim memory remains capable of offering data transfer speed of up to 2133 megabits per second per pin.
The Galaxy S5 speculated features or must have include the following:
Sony Mobile may be brewing something already after they officially announced the Xperia Z1 recently which was called as the ultimate smartphone for 2014. The Xperia Z2 Avatar is rumoured to be the successor of Z1 Honami, speculated to be inspired by Samsung' Galaxy Note 3.
The upcoming rumoured smartphone is expected to arrive in April 2014, if not, possibly at CES next year. The upcoming device is said to feature mouth-watering hardware. The latest gossip about the Xperia Z2 Avatar is that it will include 5.2 inches of IGZO display screen with Triluminos, 1080 x 1920 full HD resolution with 468ppi, 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Xenon flash, Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed OS, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 3200 mAh battery pack.
Apparently, Sony locked up their doors to prevent future leaks of upcoming Xperia smartphones, and it would be very difficult to monitor the Xperia Avatar as the company does not allow online posting of prototype devices and use of third-party benchmarking software.
