Adidas Releases 'D-Rose 4' Signature Shoe (PHOTOS)
It looks like Adidas is pulling out all the stops for the return of their top basketball endorser, 2011 MVP Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.
More than a year after ending the 2012 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, D-Rose is set to make his comeback in style. He has already made an open declaration that he is the best player in the NBA and told reporters in Manila that he wants to make it to the U.S. roster, competing in the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain.
This confidence is light years away from his teary-eyed appearances in 2012. At 24 years old, D-Rose is already making a lot of observers take notice without even stepping on the hardcourt -- and he still has a lot of basketball in him.
And what better way is there to promote his brand than to launch a signature shoe that reflects his personality?
The Adidas D-Rose 4, set to make its NBA debut in the season-opening Bulls-Heat game, is a perfect storm of attitude and performance. In a video promoting the shoe, Rose exudes both humilty and confidence, thanking everyone who had been by his side during his long road to recovery.
"Did I deserve the world lifting me up when I was down? Will I be able to give my city the ultimate thank you? Can I do what it takes to be remembered? It's time to prove to my fans that I'm still focused. It's time to show the world that I can still do this. I'm all in for Chicago," Rose says in the ad, which promises to be a teaser of what he can do -- and what he has already done.
