Early reports indicated that the Android 4.3 firmware update for Samsung Galaxy S3 will only be filled in by security patches and bug fixes without Galaxy S4 features. However, new information from the same source revealed that the upcoming firmware will now have Galaxy S4 features in the camera and battery performance.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S3
On October 2013, owners of the Galaxy S3 can start getting the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS on their devices which include the final features of the Jelly Bean generation. In addition, Samsung is also including several bug fixes and more security patches for the former flagship smartphone. It is expected that the Android 4.3 firmware will be pushed via Over-the-Air and Samsung Kies on PCs.

- Bluetooth Low Energy
- Wireless Display for TV screen mirroring
- OpenGL ES 3.0 for 3D rendering

Galaxy S4 Features for Galaxy S3
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has been seen running on the Galaxy S3 and one of the firmware which leaked this year exposed that Galaxy S4 features are compatible on the former flagship smartphone. Early reports claimed that Samsung will only give Galaxy S3 owners security patches and several bug fixes on the next official firmware update.
However, new information updated the report and confirms that Galaxy S3 will get Galaxy S4 applications but not all of them. According to AndroidSaS, the same source which reported "no Galaxy S4 features" came up with latest information saying that the Galaxy S3 will have an Android 4.3 firmware comprised of Galaxy S4 such as:
- Some Galaxy S4 which may be a part of gestures, motion and upgrades of exclusive apps
- Camera improvements
- Battery enhancements
- A bit change on the user interface
- Security updates
- Bug fixes included
Based on their sources, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will hit the Galaxy S3 by mid-October 2013 for GT-I9300 and GT-I9305 models.
