Whether or not you are into snails, you have not seen anything like this before which has a transparent shell for sure. A new specie of snail discovered came from about 3,000 feet below the ground within a Croatian cave.
In the journal of Subterranean Biology, the new snail turns out to be blind which is not at all a hindrance since they live underground. It lives in Earth's deepest caves. Just like other cave animals, most just lose their sight in time due to the lack of light where they live.
The Zospeum tholussum is so small that it is measure at 1.4 to 1.8 millimetres tall and it's weird how anyone can see its guts through its own shell.
Dr Alexander Weigand from the Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany said that the new snail species is found in a deep cave system called the Lukina Jama-Trojama, as reported by Natali Anderson in Sci-News.
Scientists discovered just one of these rare snail species alive and only got numerous shells within the cave. Its shells may be translucent but it becomes more of the milky white as it matures through time. It comes with limited capacity to move from one place to another and loves spending its time with some muddy waters.
As for the other information with the new snail species like what it usually eats is yet to be known by several scientists.
