Liverpool's summer signing Victor Moses believes that the Reds have it in them to challenge for the title this season.
The wide-man, who was brought on a season-long loan from Chelsea scored his opener for the Merseyside club against Swansea after latching on to a wayward pass from Jonjo Shelvey and slotting it home from outside the box. The Reds have made a bright start to their campaign and are currently top of the table after four games and are looking good to challenge for top honours.
Liverpool have already beaten Manchester United at Anfield and are still without Luis Suarez who is set to return for their Capital one game against United at Old Trafford next week. Moses believes that Liverpool have enough quality around the park and a title bid should not be put beyond them this season.
"Look at the way we have started so well. We're still unbeaten and there are enough quality players here to win the Premier League. A lot of people are saying Liverpool can be in the top four, but we believe in ourselves. We are confident we can be looking beyond the top four," Moses said.
"This year is a lot different. If you look at the way the table is at the moment, anyone can win the league. It's not only about two teams, so why not Liverpool?" he added.
The winger went on to add as to how he had snubbed Rodgers as a 14-year-old while at Chelsea and decided to stay in Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old finally completed a move last year but failed to feature in Mourinho's plans and was thereby loaned out of the squad.
"I've known the gaffer from when I was 14 and he wanted me to go to Chelsea. We had a chat and I was expected to move there. He phoned and I told him I was going to go. But then I had another think about it and didn't turn up," Moses revealed.
"I just didn't go. I didn't ring him or anything, I just didn't go and stayed at Palace. I thought there was no point going to a bigger club like that and not getting in the first team, not playing."
