'White Collar's' Matt Bomer Moves on From 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Snub With New Film [PHOTOS]
"White Collar's" Matt Bomer is quick to move on from the "Fifty Shades of Grey" drama. After having lost to Charlie Hunnam for the part of Christian Grey, Matt is moving on from the snub with a new film. From "Fifty" to "Montgomery," here's the latest on former favourite for Christian Grey, Matt Bomer.
The "Magic Mike" star isn't one to hold grudges even after losing such an iconic part. While Matt has moved on from the drama that is "Fifty Shades," fans still cannot let go of the fact that Charlie Hunnam had been cast instead of Matt Bomer for the part of Christian Grey. In fact, an online petition sparked a day after E.L. James made the cast announcement on her official Twitter account.
"Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too. So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING," stated the petition on Change.org.
Long before Charlie Hunnam was eyed by the production studio, Matt was an old favourite since 2012 along with the likes of Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder. Of course, Matt has felt honoured for fans going through all the extremes of getting him cast as Christian Grey but like a true gentleman he's more than happy that the "Sons of Anarchy" star got the part.
"I'm so grateful for the fans and touched. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota," stated Bomer in an interview with E! Online.
Now, Matt has his focus on something else which is a biopic of the screen star legend, Montgomery Clift. Production on the film is slated for 2014 which gives Matt more time to work on the latest season of "White Collar."
