There was a double elimination last week. This week, the four remaining contestants shed their manly clothes of the last week and landed on the African Island of Mauritius. They were two photo-shoots, off the coast. The girls were put at a five-star resort. Abbie, Melisa, Duckie and Shanali jumped on a private boat to get to the middle of the sea. Didier Cohen was waiting for them.
The Week's Challenge: 11-feet underwater photo-shoot and a walk on the runaway. Melisa's fear of water made her a nervous wreck. Didier failed to convince her to do the underwater photo-shoot. Jez Smith, former judge and top model collaborator, was present to do both the photo-shoots.
In addition to the performance in Mauritius, Abbie, Melisa, Duckie and Shanali were also judged based on their overall performance throughout the entire Cycle 8.
Shanali's photographs from both the photo-shoots came out brilliant. She was awarded 'The Photo of the Week.' Shanali also became the first candidate to enter the final. Melissa and Duckie joined her to compete for the coveted title of "Australia's Next Top Model."
Abbie was eliminated.
Voting will now decided the winner of "Australia's Next Top Model" Cycle 8. In addition to receiving 20 thousand dollars in cash from TRESemmé, the winning contestant will also sign a one-year-modelling contract with IMG Sydney. Also, she will receive the offer of worldwide representation from IMG London, New York, Milan and Paris.
Additionally, the winner will be featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Australia and in eight-page fashion spread, as well. On top of all that, the top model gets to drive a brand new Nissan 370z.
According to the profile page of 16-year-old Melissa on Fox8, "She can be quiet but very sweet and obsessed with Victoria Secret models."
Nyadak, nicknamed Duckie, 16, is of Sudanese origin. "... her smile is huge and brightens up the room with a never ending supply of different facial expressions which are always entertaining. She loves playing basketball and has worn a wig or weave for a long time ..." her profile page says.
In her profile page, Shanali, 16, describes herself as "weird, creative and a questioner who is quiet at first, but has the potential to come out of her shell"
