Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas will allow Emmanuel Adebayor to leave the club on a short term loan in order for the striker to gain regular first team action and put himself in the shop window.
Villas-Boas revealed that the Togo international would be training with the reserves and suggested that he would not receive many opportunities in the first team this season.
Preferring to play with Roberto Soldado as a lone striker, the Spurs boss made it clear that he was happy with Jermain Defoe and Harry Kane to be used as back-up, leaving Adebayor out in the wilderness.
The 29 year old has been informed that he will be training with the reserves but the Daily Mirror report that Villas-Boas would prefer the striker goes on-loan to a Championship club in order to remain sharp.
It is likely that Tottenham would look to part with the striker permanently during the January transfer window and will increase their chance of finding a buyer if he is playing regularly and scoring goals.
Adebayor had spoken of his desire to force his way into Villas-Boas' plans and end the season as the number one forward but it seems increasingly likely that his future lies away from White Hart Lane.
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has repeatedly spoken of his desire to land the former Manchester City striker but he will be acutely aware of the high wages the player earns at Spurs.
Redknapp would require Spurs to pay a high proportion of his salary, but it seems they will have competition as Wigan are also said to be keen in securing a loan deal for Adebayor.
Having initially impressed on a season-long loan from Manchester City, it has been a difficult last year for Adebayor at Tottenham as he scored just five league goals in his 24 appearances last season.
