Miss World 2013 contestants visited the Mother Temple of Besakih, also known as Pura Besakih, in Bali, Indonesia on Wednesday.
The Mother Temple of Besakih is situated in the east of Bali on the slopes of Mount Agung, the highest volcano on the Bali Island. The temple with pyramidal structure is the largest and holiest Hindu temple in Bali.
The contestants took part in the rituals at the temple and explored the place before visiting Rudana Gallery, a museum of fine art situated near the temple.
"The visit to the temple was wonderful, and I had a great sensation of peace and tranquility," contestant Elena Ibarbia of Spain said, according to the official website of the Miss World Organisation.
"The temple is a wonderful piece of architecture, and to see it was a once in a lifetime experience," contestant from El Salvador, Paola Vanessa, who is an architecture student, said.
Visiting and exploring the largest Hindu temple on the island was a great experience for the contestants, especially for Navneet Kaur Dhillon from India.
Dhillon, who is the winner of Pond's Femina Miss World India 2013, expressed her excitement on visiting the temple.
"This is my first time to visit this temple. It's very beautiful. I pray for the best for everyone," she said.
