The Toronto Film Festival started last September 5, 2013 and has managed to create an epic lineup of featured films for its 38th edition. The well attended festival is one of the world's top tier cinematic circuits that have been running since 1976.

The 38th annual Toronto Film Festival will be running until September 15, 2013 as it features 366 films from 70 different countries all scheduled to be screened in 11 days, including 146 world premiers.
The movie "The Fifth Estate" by Bill Condon was tasked to open the festival and "Life of Crime" has been selected as the closing film. Thanks to its hardworking programmers, the festival snagged an enviable directory of featured films for movie-living audiences.
Each year the festival managed to separate some films from its overall list; these films are ones that cast powerhouse performers, the return of talented filmmakers, an auspicious debut or a buzz from its previous premier.
The glitz, glamour and reinvention is common to this year's parade of films, where Hollywood heavyweights including Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, Jude Law and Daniel Radcliffe are playing radical roles that is way different from their well-worn images.
Programming bosses Piers Handling and Cameron Bailey predicted that challeging performance will mark this year's fest. They are the ones who publicized a celeb-packed lineup that includes the Oscar winner Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Colin Firth, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Aniston and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The family drama "August: Osage Country" features Streep and Roberts, a powerful cast that that is worthy of an Oscar buzz. Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper and Sam Shepard join the ensemble.
"And they're all just at the top of their game," Bailey says. "It's got really meaty dialogue, great characters. I think those performances will definitely be noticed."
Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto is leading the film "Dallas Buyers Club" where both actors underwent remarkable physical transformation. McConaughey plays a heterosexual HIV sufferer-turned-activist Ron Woodroof where he according to reports shed nearly 40 pounds that is way different from his "Magic Mike" physique.
Other films that are making waves in the festival include Steve McQueen's "12 Years A Slave", Dennis Villanueve's Prisoners, Jason Bateman's "Labor Day" and Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity".
