'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: Charlie Hunnam Not The Least Bit Affected by Sex Scenes for Film [PHOTOS]
Readers particularly women aged 40 and over enjoyed the novels written by E.L. James. The love story may be one thing but the S&M is another. With the film adaptation in the works, Universal Studios and Focus Features promise the film will display just the right amount of sex scenes. How is the films' lead, Charlie Hunnam set to portray Christian Grey, taking all this in?
British hunk, Charlie Hunnam of "Fifty Shades of Grey" is in no way affected by rumours that he'd balk at the amount of raunchy scenes for the film. In fact, the 33 year old "Sons of Anarchy" star claims it'll be a walk in the park filming the sex scenes alongside co-star, Dakota Johnson who plays Anastasia Steele.
"You know what, I had such a baptism of fire with regards to sexuality on camera at the beginning of my career," said Hunnam to the Associated Press during the promotion of "Sons of Anarchy."
"I starred in the British Channel Four miniseries Queer as Folk, where I played a young, gay character, and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show. ... Now I am 16 years older and more mature so I don't anticipate them being too much of a problem. It's like anything else, just an exciting challenge," continued Hunnam.
The sex scenes might not be a problem for Charlie but it certainly is something difficult to take for his long-time girlfriend, Morgana McNelis.
"Of course, it's difficult being with an actor, you know?" stated Hunnam, adding, "She is required to share certain parts of me with the world that she wouldn't necessarily choose to do, but we have a great relationship, and she loves me and wants to be with me and we've been together a long time now, and I think she understands and has come to terms with the fact that there are certain elements of me that she is going to have to share. This is an extreme example of that, but thankfully we do have seven and a half years of history together, so it won't be a big problem."
