New Liverpool forward Iago Aspas claims he has been impressed by life in the Premier League so far and would happily recommend other players to join him in England.
The Spaniard, who arrived at Anfield from Celta Vigo in a £7m deal earlier this summer, has started all three league matches for the Reds so far. And though the 26-year-old is yet to score his first goal for the club, he has played his part in helping them remain at the top of the table, going into this international break.
"I would tell any player to go to the Premier League. You get a different feeling, especially compared to Spain. It's the first time I've left home so that's been hard, but things are going well. I'm very happy, especially because we are leading the league. It's only been three games though, and it's a very long competition," the striker pointed out.
Aspas had 12 goals and seven assists to his name from 34 La Liga appearances for Celta last season, operating as a centre forward. However, Brendan Rodgers has opted to deploy the Spaniard in a withdrawn role behind the in-form Daniel Sturridge so far but the player is confident he can thrive in that position and also adjust to the alteration in playing styles in England.
"I'm playing a bit further back than I did at Celta, but over there you need to run a bit more because it's a bit more physically. That's the biggest difference from the Spanish league, which is more based on technique. So far, I've only played three games there and I haven't visited all the stadiums, so it'd be difficult for me to say which of the two is the better league. At the end of the season, I can answer that question," the player added.
Aspas is expected to be in action for Liverpool on 17 September, when they travel to Wales to take on Rodgers' former club Swansea City.
