Mark Lawrenson believes that Victor Moses will prove to be a brilliant signing for Liverpool this season after the Reds were able to clinch a loan deal for the Chelsea winger..
Moses made the move from west London to Merseyside on deadline day, becoming Brendan Rodgers' eighth signing of the summer as the manager continues to overhaul the squad.
Rodgers' attacking options have been severely boosted in the most recent transfer window and Lawrenson insists that Moses is a signficant addition for a side which are aiming for a top four finish this season.
"The loan move for Victor Moses is a real canny piece of business," he said in the Liverpool Daily Post. "I don't think Liverpool can lose. It's a good pinch, but perhaps Chelsea don't see Liverpool as their immediate rivals."
He also argued that the 22 year old will have a positive impact on Liverpool's other attacking players this season after showing his potential at Chelsea over the last year.
He explained: "The winger did well at Chelsea when he played, and his arrival can help bring more out of Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Iago Aspas and even Philippe Coutinho.
"Even if Moses only comes on for the final 20 minutes of some games, he has the pace to occupy defenders and go past them, and he can really stretch teams.
"He reminds me a little of Daniel Sturridge in terms of the way his career has gone. It looks as though Sturridge has smelt the coffee since moving to Liverpool, and you wonder if this might be the time for Moses to do likewise."
