'Elementary' Season Two Airs on September 26: Meet Mycroft, Sherlock Holmes Beloved Brother Plus More [PHOTOS & VIDEO]
Benedict Cumberbatch of the NBC British series "Sherlock" proves to be the perfect Holmes. However, that hasn't stopped American producers from recreating their own version of Arthur Conan Doyles' beloved detective. "Elementary" starring Johnny Lee Miller comes back for season two with trusty female companion, Watson played by Lucy Lui on September 26. Here's all that fans should look forward to.
Not everyone is impressed with the female Watson and Moriarty for CBS's' take on Sherlock Holmes. That of course hasn't stopped producers of the TV show, "Elementary" from working on its second season. In fact, Johnny Lee Miller who plays Sherlock is slated to come back to the screen by September 26. Obviously, new twists and turns will be added to the line-up of which involves Sherlock's estranged brother, Mycroft played by Rhys Ifans.
According to executive producer Rob Doherty, the reunion between the two brothers is unlikely to be a happy one.
"He really had no intention of seeing his brother or talking to him or even telling Joan that he exists. It's not a very happy reunion, at least initially. But over the course of the episode, we try to find out what drove the brothers apart, what they have in common and what are their differences," stated Doherty.
Aside from Mycroft making more than one appearance for the second season, more mystery and surprises await fans of "Elementary." Gareth Lestrade played by Sean Pertwee will also make his debut.
