Manchester United winger Luis Nani has firmly put an end to speculation regarding his future by signing a new five year contract with the Premier League champions.
The Portuguese international endured an uncertain summer after falling out of favour with Sir Alex Ferguson last season and saw himself persistently linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
But any concerns about his future role at Old Trafford have been firmly addressed by David Moyes after United confirmed through their official account that the 26-year-old has signed a new long term deal that will keep him at the club until 2018.
"Playing at United has been a fantastic experience for me," Nani told the club's website.
"When I came to the club, I never imagined the success we have enjoyed. Training every day with top players who want to win trophies every year is a great motivation to me.
"I'm very happy that the new manager has shown this faith in me and I'm looking forward to helping the team compete for more honours this season."
After arriving from Sporting Lisbon in 2007, Nani has often thrilled and frustrated supporters in equal measures. While he has proven to be one of United's most effective creative presences with a keen eye for goal, problems maintaining a level of consistency have often followed him.
It would appear that Moyes is convinced of the winger's unquestionable ability and moreover, his commitment to the club in securing Nani's long term future.
"I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years, manager Moyes said. "He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years.
"I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons."
Nani, whose contract was due to run out next summer, has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford for some time, with Monaco and Galatasaray reportedly making offers in the summer.
Suggestions his future might lie away from the club heightened last season as the former Sporting Lisbon starlet started just six Premier League games under Ferguson, before his season was effectively ended when he was sent off in Manchester United's Champions League clash with Real Madrid at Old Trafford.
