Emmy producers have announced that Michael Douglas and Matt Damon will present this year's awards.
The Hollywood actors, who are both nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie category for Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, have also been enlisted to give away the prestigious gongs on the same night, it has been revealed.
Their HBO film about legendary pianist Liberace's affair with his young gay lover Scott Thorson has been nominated in 15 categories.
Both men have been up for Emmys four times. Douglas was last nominated for the award in 2002 for Will & Grace while Damon was nominated for the award for 30 Rock in 2011.
Neither has ever won the accolade.
The Emmys, regarded as the Oscars of the television industry, will be a welcome distraction for Douglas who recently split from his wife of 13 years, Catherine Zeta- Jones.
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Sept. 22 from the Nokia Theatre.
