Toshiba Gulf joins the line of tech companies offering hybrid computers. The company just launched their PX30t - a device that combines personal computer, television and gaming console into one. Can this be the next big hit?
The Toshiba PX30t is an all-in-one entertainment and gaming hub. It has the right features to address any of people's multimedia needs. The device runs on the latest Windows 8 operating system. It also packs on a fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor complete with a quad-core CPU.
It seems Toshiba has been stepping its game. Hybrids have been dominating the market for this year. Toshiba's latest offering aims to differentiate itself from the rest by combining an entertainment system with a computer and gaming platform. Most hybrids either combine two computing platforms.
The PX30t features a GPU with two options. Consumers can either choose the NVIDIA GeForce with NVIDIA Optimus technology or the Intel HD 4000 graphics. The NVIDIA GeForce offers high resolution support allowing users to view videos and images in the clearest and sharpest form. Intel's HD 4000 graphics, on the other hand, guarantees high performance and power efficiency.
"Having the convenience of a computer with thin FHD screen, all-round multimedia functions and a central data storage network, the Toshiba PX30t is the ultimate computing and entertainment device for everyone in the family," Santosh Varghese, general manager, Digital Products and Services of Toshiba Gulf, explained.
The personal computer offers 3TB of hard disk space. It also comes with a 23-inch full HD screen plus LED backlighting. RAM is at 16GB while a Blu-ray disc with BDXL drive is included to let users stream HD movies not found on otherwise on the hard drive of the computer.
Other specs include Harman Kardon stereo speakers equipped with an excellent (5W+5W) x 2 = 20W output tuned with DTS Studio Sound. This allows the device to create a surround sound effect, ideal volume control, outstanding bass including a dialog enhancement function. The PX30t packs on an Intel WiDi, built-in wireless LAN and Miracast ready technology. The Miracast feature gives people access to a range of web content that is compatible with types of devices.
