For those who would consider buying the creepy houses, respondents insisted for a good deal of a discount. With October coming up real soon, here is a super early treat to real life haunted houses that are sure to give you the chills!
The Winchester Mystery House (San Jose, California)
This house is filled with a lot of twisted rooms and other interesting maze-like construction that took about 38 years to construct. It has secret panels, hallways that can be turned, and even staircase that lead to nowhere.
Franklin Castle (Cleveland, Ohio)
Its story is as creepy as its exteriors. It has been reported to have been the venue of numerous murders and it has the elements of the usual haunted house from gargoyles and fence made of wrought iron. Its recent property history tells that it was sold for $260,000 about two years ago.
Monte Cristo Homestead (NSW, Australia)
This is considered to be one of the most terrifying places of the world. Stories said that a caretaker was once murdered way back in 1961, and since then, a streak of bad luck has happened to the family who lived there. Many paranormal experts attested seeing some ghosts during their visits.
Lizzie Borden House (Fall River, Massachusetts)
This was the site where one of the most gruesome crimes was committed. It was where Lizzie Borden allegedly killed her own parents. Eventually she was acquitted and left their family home. Many say that they see a lady wearing a Victorian-styled dress cleaning up rooms and bed sheets even when the house is empty.
Rose Hall (Jamaica)
This is where the legendary Annie Palmer once lived. Other stories around the place said that the Haiti-born lady used voodoo to punish men. The last couple who bought the property in 1965 made it a museum, even when visitors and its employees hear slamming doors inside.
Which of these real life haunted houses gave you the chills just by reading about it and looking at its pictures first hand?
