'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Charlie Hunnam Officially Cast as Christian Grey [PHOTOS]
After months of waiting, producers of "Fifty Shades of Grey" have finally announced their official cast for the lead role of Christian Grey. Charlie Hunnam of "Sons of Anarchy" nabs the part of Christian Grey. Is Charlie everything fans have hoped for?
Finally, staying true to the rumours, the cast had officially been announced over the weekend after Labour Day. It was none other than author E.L. James who announced the news over her Twitter account.
"Good moaning all. Hold on to your hats..." stated James which was then followed up by, "The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey."
For those who still don't know who Charlie Hunnam is, Charlie played major roles in "Pacific Rim", "Cold Mountain" and Sons of Anarchy." Hunnam, along with Theo James and Christian Cooke, was one of the three actors initially eyed by producers. Obviously, Charlie won the favour.
While a few fans are delighted with the casting of Charlie for the part of Christian, some aren't too pleased. Strong favourite for months, Matt Bomer hasn't even been considered by James or by the producers for the part. Another favourite over the course of speculation included Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder, both of which weren't even eyed by producers.
Well, fans still have Elliot Grey and Kate Kavanagh parts to root for with their favourite celebrities. For now, the part of Christian Grey goes to Charlie Hunnam. Will Charlie be able to pull off the S&M role? Check out the slideshow to see more of this hunk who finally got the part.
