Sunderland have agreed a season-long loan for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, according to Goal.com. The 22-year-old Italian international only joined the Anfield club last summer but a broken leg in his debut season in English top flight meant he was unable to establish himself in Brendan Rodgers' first team.

Borini made only five Premier League starts last season, scoring just the one goal. He made 20 appearances across all competitions, managing two strikes. However, he had an excellent summer with the Italian U21 side, playing in the 2013 UEFA European U21 Championships, scoring against the Netherlands and Spain.
It is believed Rodgers will allow Borini to leave on loan once the Reds confirm a similar arrangement for Chelsea winger Victor Moses. The Nigerian international is expected to complete his move from west London in a short time, as the Blues look to lighten the load at Stamford Bridge after a summer spent recruiting heavily in the attacking midfield department.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have confirmed the transfers of defenders Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori, from Ligue 1 champions Paris St Germain (PSG) and Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon respectively. The pair cost a combined £25m and wil provide Rodgers with improived defensive options, after the retirement of Jamie Carragher and the long-term injury to Uruguayan youngster Sebastian Coates.
Finally, Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has praised Black Cats' latest confirmed signing, Ki Sung-Yeong. The South Korean international arrives on a season-long loan from Premier League rivals Swansea City.
"It's obvious that he has quality, physical presence and he's young. The fact that he played for a few years already in British football made me happy that he decided to sign for us. He played lots of games for Swansea - a good team who play good football. He's a player who can build up from the back in the way I want; he plays tactical balls and has a long range of delivery with precision," Di Canio told his club's website.
Ki joined the Swans from Scottish champions Celtic last summer but failed to establish himself at the Liberty Stadium, with only three assists from 29 league games.
